What is BRITFILMS
BRITFILMS is a schools film festival organised by AG KINO–GILDE, the association of German arthouse cinemas. A package of six British films touring German cinemas, where the films are presented in special school matinees for kids from age 8 to 18. In conjunction with the screenings we offer a number of film education workshops for English teachers. Study Guides provide the film interested pedagogue with basic tools for film analysis and detailed study guides for each individual film. Each movie is presented in its original language with German subtitles. Our aim is to:
- support the budding film education movement in Germany
- develope a network of cinemas, organisations and teachers interested in film education and the British cinema
- further the understanding and appreciation of British film culture
The BRITFILMS festival is modelled after our already very successful project Cinéfête, one of Germanys biggest schools film events presenting French films to more than 100.000 students each year.
